After Bratislava we headed to Ukrainian border. At the small village Velke Slemence (Slovakia) the border to enter Ukraine can only be crossed by pedestrians. As soon as you enter Mali Selmentsi in Ukraine, you can see huge differences between two countries: Economical, linguistic, cultural… We stayed not that long in the village and continued our way to another Ukrainian town, Uzhgorod.
Despite the general situation in Ukraine, one can not really feel any kind of tensions in the Western part of the country. We can just feel the very low economical situation such as influence of Russian language and culture. Thanks to David, our only way to communicate with the people was in Russian.
Despite Uzhgorod we discovered places near by the border, driving till Romania. These places were totally different than city life, including people, infrastructure and etc.
It was good experience for our team to compare European countries and country near border, because it was not planed at all and it was worth of it.
